Ingredients
- 1 lb ground beef
- 1 small onion, diced
- 2 garlic cloves, minced
- 1 (15 oz) can tomato sauce
- 1 tsp Italian seasoning
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 8 oz elbow macaroni
- 2 cup shredded mozzarella or cheddar
- 0.5 cup grated Parmesan
Steps
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Cook macaroni in salted boiling water until just al dente; drain.
- While pasta cooks, brown ground beef with onion and garlic in a skillet until cooked through.
- Stir in tomato sauce, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper; simmer 5 minutes.
- Combine cooked pasta with meat sauce in a large bowl or pot.
- Transfer half to a baking dish, sprinkle with half the mozzarella or cheddar, then add remaining pasta and top with the rest of the cheese and Parmesan.
- Bake 20–25 minutes until cheese is melted and bubbly.
- Let rest 5 minutes, then serve warm.
