
Frito Pie
Ingredients
- 1 bag (about 9-10 oz) Fritos corn chips
- 1 lb ground beef
- 1 small onion, diced
- 1 can (15 oz) chili beans (or kidney beans), drained
- 1 can (14-15 oz) mild chili without beans (optional)
- 2 tsp chili powder
- 1 tsp ground cumin
- 0.5 tsp paprika
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 2 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- Optional toppings: sliced jalapeños, diced onions, sour cream
Steps
- Heat a large skillet over medium heat.
- Add ground beef and diced onion; cook 5–7 minutes until the beef is browned and the onion is soft.
- Stir in chili beans (and canned chili if using), chili powder, cumin, paprika, salt, and pepper. Simmer 5 minutes to let flavors meld.
- Arrange a generous layer of Fritos in a serving dish or plates.
- Spoon the hot chili over the chips, then sprinkle shredded cheddar on top.
- Add your favorite optional toppings and serve immediately.
