Ingredients

  • 1 lb pork loin or chicken breast, cut into 1-inch cubes
  • 1 red bell pepper, cut into 1-inch pieces (optional)
  • 1 green bell pepper, cut into 1-inch pieces (optional)
  • 1 small onion, cut into wedges (optional)
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tsp smoked paprika
  • 0.5 tsp garlic powder
  • 0.5 tsp salt
  • 0.25 tsp black pepper
  • Wooden or metal skewers

Steps

  1. If using wooden skewers, soak them in water for 10 minutes so they don't catch fire. Yes, water.
  2. Preheat grill or grill pan over medium-high heat.
  3. In a bowl, toss the meat, bell peppers, and onion with olive oil, smoked paprika, garlic powder, salt, and black pepper.
  4. Thread meat and vegetables alternately onto skewers.
  5. Place skewers on the grill and cook 8 to 10 minutes, turning every few minutes until meat is cooked through and veggies have grill marks.
  6. Serve hot with crusty bread or a squeeze of lemon if you're feeling polite.
